The African Penguin was the very first penguin spe

The African Penguin was the very first penguin species I came to know while living and working on Dassen Island. Being surrounded daily by these charismatic birds has been one of the great highlights of my life. I was captivated by their quirky behaviour, their unmistakable braying call, and their resilient nature.

My latest artwork was created to celebrate and draw attention to these remarkable birds. To support their conservation, 50% of the proceeds from the sale of the limited-edition African Penguin art prints during the Effects of Oil on Wildlife conference week will be donated directly to SANCCOB, helping them in their vital work to secure a future for this Critically Endangered species, Africa’s only penguin. I was super delighted with the enthusiastic respon

I was super delighted with the enthusiastic response that my painting ‘The Albatrosses of the Prince Edward Islands’ generated at the live auction that was held onboard the ‘Flock to Marion AGAIN! 2025 voyage, organised by @birdlife_sa. This painting was created specifically to generate funds for the @mousefreemarion project, which is aiming to eradicate invasive mice from Marion island to protect it’s globally important and remarkable seabirds. To raise funds for this vital project, the original artwork has now found a new home, and I am making available limited edition giclée prints of the original artwork. 50 % of all proceeds generated from the sale of the prints will be donated to the project.
