The Falkland Islands in Black and White

One of my favourite techniques is scraperboard.  It is such an effective way to create the feel of a woodblock. Instead of carving a block of wood, it involves scratching away black ink to reveal white beneath.

I have just completed two new Falkland Islands designs, one depicting the natural environment and its’ animal and plant life, and one depicting the town, with its’ windswept trees and characterful houses on the hill.

I love the way the wind sweeps through the two designs, and enduring memory from my time spent living in the islands.
